Set Up & Manage Streaming

How do I set up and manage my streams?

To access your streams, log into New Day and place your cursor on “My Account” at the far right of the home page menu. Click on the Streams dropdown for a list of your streaming titles. On the upper right of the Streams page, select Licensee Tools to manage your licenses, view all your licensed films, and see purchase and expiration dates. Tools include specific link details and our tool for setting up IP authentication.

If you have any general questions regarding our platform or for technical support, please contact Karen Knox at orders@NewDay.com.

How does New Day streaming work?

We offer streaming with licensing terms of 14 days, one year, three years, five years, and in-perpetuity (Life of File).

For institutions: When you purchase a streaming license, New Day provides a link based on your IP address or IP address range. After your purchase, simply add this data to your Account Profile in the space provided.

For distance learning: New Day streaming works with your proxy server to provide streams for off-campus viewers. We also now offer email-based authentication, so anyone with your institution's .edu or .org address can stream your purchases. For more information, see the Email Authentication FAQ.

For individuals: If you're a student accessing a school stream, the same username and password you use to sign into your campus’s services are all that’s required. If you have a personal three-day streaming license (not for classroom or group use), you'll use login credentials to access your streams.

What are your streaming Formats?

The files used for the New Day streaming platform are H.264 MPEG-4 files processed to enable adaptive streaming. The files should not have any issues playing back on most devices.

What if I am already a New Day Digital streaming user?

Licenses purchased through your New Day Digital account will continue to be operational, but to access your account on the new integrated site, please reset your password. To reset your password, go to https://www.newday.com/user/password, enter your email address and click on “Email New Password.” You will receive an email with a password reset link.

Once you have logged in and changed your password, you can access your streams by choosing Streams from the "My Account" menu at the right of the menu bar.

Select Licensee Tools to view all your licensed films and to see your purchase and expiration dates. Here you will also find your new streaming links for institutional use.  We want to make this upgrade as smooth as possible for you, so please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. If you have any general questions regarding our platform or for technical support, please contact Karen Knox (orders@newday.com).

Can't log in?

If you’re having trouble logging into the application, first check that you’re typing in your username and password correctly. Verify that your caps lock key is not on. If you continue to have problems, try resetting your password - use the Forgot Password button and a new password will be emailed to you.

If you do not receive your password in a few minutes and have reset it more than once contact the system administrator using the Support Page available on this web site. There may have been trouble sending you an email for some reason.

The video doesn't play or takes a long time to buffer.

The videos are intended to be streamed using a high-speed Internet connection. Using a slow connection will cause the video to not play properly. If the videos frequently buffer, you are not maintaining a fast enough connection to our servers to watch our videos. Please contact your network administrator.

How does IP address and proxy server authentication work?

You can configure IP addresses of your institution’s network that this website will use to recognize requests for video access. When configured properly, users with an IP address that falls within the list of authorized IP addresses will be granted access to view videos without further authentication. This is ideal for anyone who wishes to access videos from an on-campus location where you can predict what will be the source IP addresses of your users. Authentication is seamless, and the user will never be prompted to log in.

For users to access videos off campus, your institution must use a proxy server. It is not possible to reliably predict the IP address of someone using a private internet service provider, as IP addresses are assigned dynamically. Using a proxy server allows our servers to read off-campus requests as if they are coming from a known on-campus IP address.

A newer option for off-campus access is our email-based authentication, which may be used in lieu of a proxy server.

What payment methods can I use?

We accept all major credit cards and Purchase Orders.

What are your terms of use - streaming license?

Here are our Terms of Service.

What licenses are available?

For maximum flexibility, many New Day films offer several licensing options, including Fixed-Term Licenses and Life of File (in-perpetuity) Licenses. Terms of each license begins at purchase. Just add your institution’s IP address or IP address range to your profile or use our Email-based access, following your purchase.

You may purchase a single title, a personally-curated collection, or our entire catalogue.

14-day, 1-year, and 3-year licenses: Prices vary. The cost includes classroom rights and an institutional viewing option.

Life of File licenses: This license gives customers access to a streaming file through our website for as long as it exists. Downloads are not available directly from the website with this option, so please contact us at orders@NewDay.com to discuss a Digital Site License (digital file download). The streaming license will not expire.

3-Day Individual license: For individual viewing privileges only, not classroom use or public screenings. Only a limited number of titles in our catalog offer this license.

Full Collection: License our entire streaming collection. We add new films to our catalog on a regular basis. Once a new title is added to the New Day Streaming platform, it becomes available for use under any collection purchase that was already made.

What is the Life of File streaming option?

When customers purchase a "Life of File" stream, they will have access to the streaming file through our website for as long as it exists. Downloads are not available directly from the website with this option, so please contact us at orders@NewDay.com to discuss a Digital Site License (or digital file download). The streaming license will not expire.
