Accessibility Statement

New Day Films is committed to providing high-quality, accessible content for viewers and a streamlined, accessible website experience. We strive to meet accessibility standards across our website and social media platforms, following WCAG guidelines where possible.

As of early 2026, a small but growing number of films in our collection have audio description, over 90% have English closed captions, and many have subtitles in other languages. Our goal is to continually improve our accessibility practices. Our present barrier is cost. We are a filmmaker-run cooperative that relies upon each filmmaker procuring their own high-quality access features for their films. We recognize that AI-generated accessibility can be affordable and efficient. But we believe that the subtlety and depth of the stories our filmmakers tell benefit from human captioners and audio describers. They can bring nuance, cultural sensitivity and context that AI cannot. We aim to offer accessibility that brings accuracy and empathy, allowing our audiences to engage with our films in a meaningful way.

To this end, New Day Films is currently working on several initiatives to secure closed captions for the remaining 10% of our catalog, to continue advocating for audio description on all of our titles, and to improve the quality of our website and social media alt text. We are developing plans to reach the goal of 100% of our content having, at a minimum, captions, audio description, and transcripts.
