NEW DAY FILMS is proud to sponsor a national online event to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our four original founding members, Liane Brandon, Jim Klein, Julia Reichert and Amalie R. Rothschild. As we honor the founders’ groundbreaking feminist films and their role in starting the oldest, continuously functioning film distribution cooperative in the world, we ask you to join us!

Our founders will be in conversation with three newer New Day Films Member-Owners, Brenda Avila-Hanna, Rodney Evans, and Suzan Beraza.

Brenda Avila-Hanna has dark eyes and long, dark hair that falls around her shoulders. She is smiling. In the background is a bush with pink flowers. Rodney Evans has short, dark hair and is smiling broadly. Suzan Beraza is wearing a green shirt open at the neck and a necklace. She has dark hair, blue eyes and a half smile on her face.

New Day Films is a unique, filmmaker-run, cooperative distribution company. Since 1971, we have provided award-winning films directly to the educators, community groups, public libraries and organizations who use them. Democratically run by more than 150 filmmaker member-owners, New Day delivers hundreds of titles that illuminate, challenge and inspire. New Day was initially formed because a group of independent filmmakers were unable to find a distributor for their feminist films—so they decided to create one.

ASL and CART live captioning provided. Film clips will be open captioned and lightly audio described.
