Shannon O'Rourke

Introduction (2-3 lines)

Shannon O'Rourke's documentary debut, In the Name of Love, about Russian mail-order brides, won a Cine Golden Eagle award, and best documentary awards at several festivals, before being acquired by the Discovery Times Channel and international broadcasters. It was edited by Yana Gorskaya (Spellbound), and Executive-Produced by Sydney Pollack.

Since graduating from UC Berkeley with High Honors, Shannon has worked in non-fiction television as a writer-producer-director for the past decade, most recently on Deliver Me about high-risk pregnancies for the Discovery Health Channel. Her television credits include non-fiction programming for networks including TLC, A&E, Lifetime, WE, Court-TV and the Discovery Channel. Shannon recently finished her second film, Maybe Baby, about single women attempting to become mothers. She is working on several new documentary film projects including one about sex workers called 7 Minutes.
