Max Woertendyke
Introduction (2-3 lines)
Born and raised in Brooklyn (and still living here), I'm a Juilliard trained performer turned independent producer, primarily focused on narrative fiction. Woman in the Sky is my first documentary.
Max Woertendyke is an award winning producer and founder of Noble Gas Media. A native New Yorker, he began his career as a Juilliard trained actor, becoming the trusted collaborator of both established and upcoming talent.
Recipient of the Juilliard Career Advancement Fellowship and The Jonathan Madrigano Entrepreneurship Grant for his commitment to quality storytelling and enterprising spirit, Max has shepherded dozens of film projects to completion – touching every aspect of the film funnel along the way, from initial concept to final delivery.
His first narrative fiction feature as a producer was Dane Elcar's indie horror hit Brightwood (94% on RT, called "a masterclass" by The Guardian, and earning 5x its budget in TVOD). Other fiction projects include Milquetoast (starring Vella Lovell and Kayhun Kim), award-winning Real Live Girl (dir. by David Corenswet and written by Manon Gage). He is currently in pre-production on Elcar's next film and is also the producing partner of fellow Juilliard alum (and Woman in the Sky cinematographer) David Corenswet.
Woman in the Sky is his first documentary, about abstract expressionist Jon Schueler and his widow Magda Salvesen, who single handedly kept his legacy alive.
As an actor credits include: BROADWAY: Tony award-winning "View from the Bridge" OFF BROADWAY: "Bright Room Called Day", "Illyria", "Romeo & Juliet" (all at The Public), "Wedding Band" (TFANA). TV: "Succession", "Daredevil: Born Again", "Longmire", "American Horror Stories" and others.
