For nearly two decades, Rachel Falcone has operated at the intersection of documentary filmmaking, multimedia art, and social change. Her career began in radio, where she produced stories for NPR and the Peabody Award-winning StoryCorps.

Rachel is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Storyline, an organization dedicated to building power through story and strategy. Under her leadership, Storyline has produced groundbreaking participatory projects, including Sandy Storyline, a web documentary about Hurricane Sandy that won the Tribeca Film Festival’s inaugural Storyscapes Award, and the multiplatform exhibit "28th Amendment: Housing is a Human Right".

Rachel's most recent feature film, Homegrown, created over the course of eight years with longtime collaborator Michael Premo, explores the conservative movement and the events of January 6. The film premiered at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival in the Venice Critics Week section and was honored with a 2026 duPont-Columbia Award, cementing its place among the most distinguished works in journalism. She previously produced "Water Warriors", an award-winning short film and exhibition broadcast on POV on PBS, which chronicles a community’s fight to protect their water.

Beyond her own productions, Rachel’s ear for sound has made her a sought-after sound recordist for major documentaries, including Knock Down The House (Netflix), To the End (Hulu), and the upcoming film The Franchise. She has also served as an associate producer on Young Lakota (Independent Lens) and directed and produced dozens of short films for institutions ranging from AFSCME to The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

A graduate of Vassar College with a BA in Philosophy, Rachel is deeply committed to the next generation of storytellers. She started a one-of-a kind producing apprenticeship at Storyline and frequently speaks and provides workshops on the topics of oral history, storytelling and documentary filmmaking.
