Eric Stange, producer/director of Children of the Left, is a documentary filmmaker based in Arlington, Massachusetts, who specializes in social and political history. In addition to Children of the Left his films include Engineering from the Inside Out for the Blackside Productions' PBS series Breakthrough--about minorities in science, Love in the Cold War (1991), a story about a family torn apart by their commitment to the American Communist Party (produced for The American Experience, PBS); Picking Up the Pieces, Making Sense of the Sixties, broadcast on PBS; and Can You Stop People from Drinking?, a comparision of alcohol policy in the US and Russia, broadcast on NOVA. Recently he produced and directed a dramatized documentary about the French and Indian War for PBS, The War That Made America.
