The Times of a Sign

David Goldsmith is a New York based film and video cameraman. His work on big budget commercials and corporate pieces affords him the opportunity to do independent narrative and documentary work. Times of a Sign, his first venture as a documentarian, was co-produced with historian Steve Day, a friend from undergraduate days at Oberlin College. Both felt the project was a humorous way to vent their frustration with the lack of governmental accountability for Iran-Contra crimes. It went on to win many awards and was broadcast nationally on PBS. Goldsmith is currently producing a project about the decline of traditional commercial fisheries.
