Emile Bokaer

Introduction (2-3 lines)

Emile Bokaer's filmmaking practice is based on a strong sense of empathy and a sincere desire to connect with people. He speaks several languages and worked around the world. His films have shown internationally, including at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Media hat Matters Film Festival. In 2010 he received an MFA from Stanford University’s graduate program in Documentary Film & Video, and he is a founding member of the San Francisco production company Dogpatch Films.

Bokaer’s recent work includes SON OF MACISTA (Vimeo Staff Pick) and PURE FRUIT (Thin Line Film Festival 2012). He was additional editor for INFORMANT (Winner: Grand Jury Prize, Doc NYC; Best Documentary, Austin Film Festival; Best Documentary, Sebastapol Film Festival; Best Editing, Salem Film Festival), and first additional editor for TRUE SON (Tribeca Film Festival, 2014).
