Every spring, the members of New Day meet up to discuss the business of distribution and film making. The three day meeting is also a time to make new friends and discuss ideas for new projects.
Here’s some thoughts from one of the newest members of New Day on attending her first annual meeting:
Today is the last day of the New Day Annual Meeting and I survived! I joined this amazing 38-years-in-business documentary distribution collective last summer because I wanted to make sure that a film I made Writ Writer would find its way into the hands of educators. I spent a long time researching and producing the film on my own, competing for the scarce funds out there for the growing number of doc-makers, and I didn’t want “Writ Writer†to get lost in the digital shuffle. So I applied to join this coop of independent filmmakers who self-distribute their films within a collectively-run business, and they let me in. Thanks New Day!
